Business and Administration

Available: South, South East and South West of England

As an employer you will be committed to developing your greatest asset – your workforce. Developing their talents will help to secure the future skill needs of your business.

The efficient running of your business can depend heavily on having skilled administration staff, but day-to-day administration skills such as invoicing, reporting and using IT, must today be enhanced by financial and managerial skills.

A Business & Administration Apprenticeship will help build the right skills, as Apprenticeships have been designed by employers to meet the needs of the industry, and have been developed to help create the managers of the future.

What does an Apprenticeship include?

A Business & Administration Apprenticeship includes:

  • An Administration NVQ at Level 2
  • Communication Key Skill at Level 2
  • Application of Number at Level 1
  • An IT related Qualification such as the IT Key Skill
  • A Technical Certificate in Administration at Level 2

Technical Certificates focus on the knowledge and understanding that underpins the NVQ, and are provided through a programme of off-the-job training.

Apprentices will also learn about Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).

An Advanced Apprenticeship includes:

  • An Administration NVQ at Level 3
  • Communication Key Skill at Level 3
  • Application of Number at Level 2
  • A Diploma in Administration Level 3 (City and Guilds)

You have a key role in developing your Apprentice’s learning plan. We work with you to ensure that the Apprenticeship meets the needs of your business.

Mandatory units of the NVQ include:

  • Carrying out your Responsibilities at Work
  • Working within your Business Environment

In addition you will select from a wide range of optional units in order to tailor the Apprenticeship to the requirements of your company, such as:

  • Deal with Visitors
  • Use IT systems
  • Health and Safety
