Our training, your way

39 year old Kelly from Shaftsbury is a mother of six children and works at the St Dennis Lodge Care Home. She completed her Level 3 in Health and Social Care in 2016 majoring in dementia care.  Kelly felt like she hadn’t done very well at school and wanted to prove to herself that she could build on her education and skills.

“Completing my apprenticeship and juggling family life gave me such a sense of achievement.  I have so much more confidence in myself at work and at home.”

“My tutors from Paragon were amazing, explaining everything so well that I understood and passed first time!  I’m so proud of myself “.

When Kelly first started at St Denis Lodge she had no experience in the Care Sector and was very shy.  Her line manager Hayley Carpenter, the Registered Manager at St Denis Lodge explains;

“Kelly was a shy, quiet member of staff who lacked confidence in her ability. However, I could see something in Kelly when she first came for an interview. She was a caring person who was willing to learn and she quickly blossomed into the role and became a valued member of staff.

Since completing her level 3 in Health and Social Care Kelly has gained so much knowledge, particularly in Dementia which she has been able to put into practise. This has given her so much confidence. She is truly grateful to the fantastic team at Paragon who she believes helped her to achieve her goals.”

“Completing my apprenticeship and juggling family life gave me such a sense of achievement. I have so much more confidence in myself at work and at home.”

The Apprenticeship has boosted my confidence and helped me stand out in the company. I would recommend if anyone is considering an Apprenticeship to just go for it. It makes you very attractive to other companies as they love people who like to learn.
