When leaving school, it’s not always an easy decision choosing which career route to take. This was the case for Bournemouth based Mali who began an accounting qualification following a gap year from school.
“Whilst at college I realised that Accounting wasn't for me and nor was studying full time… I liked to earn money! It was time for a change of plan.”
During her time at college, Mali worked at McDonalds and soon discovered that she excelled in Customer Service and began exploring how she could progress a career in this specialism. Whilst researching on line Mali read about the Paragon Skills NVQ in Customer Service and made contact.
“Paragon were so friendly and helpful; finding me an apprentice position at a leading business to business marketing agency Intergage. I was delighted!” Mali now aged 22, started her role as a Client Support Coordinator, completing her NVQ level 2 and 3 in Customer Service in 2016 with an immediate promotion to Client Services Executive.
During Mali’s apprenticeship with Intergage, she has achieved three company awards including ‘Newcomer of the Year, Manages Player and Players Player’ and is now also responsible for managing staff training within the business.
“My aim is to keep progressing with Intergage and move towards working within Marketing Automation. Anyone considering an apprenticeship I say ‘just do it’! Not only to you get valuable on the job training but it will help you discover your future career route, earning money at the same time!”
