Gery Varbanova, a healthcare professional who works at the Care Management Group in Worthing, was partway through her Healthcare Support Worker Level 2 apprenticeship and Level 1 maths and English functional skills when Paragon Skills took over her learning journey.
Despite having to change providers halfway through the programme, Gery adapted, passed this programme, and thanks to support from her Personal Tutor, has gone on to complete additional apprenticeship programmes.
Since we first met her, Gery has found success in becoming a Lead Support worker, and has now been promoted to Deputy Manager at the Care Management Group whilst she works towards completing her next apprenticeship in Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3, and Level 2 maths and English.
Gery’s Personal Tutor Lisa Lyons said:
“I have known Gery for three and a half years through her time training with us, and I have seen her English improve greatly which has boosted her confidence. Gery is well respected within the home and the linked home next door, which has coped with many difficulties including being short-staffed and supporting her manager to deal with a safeguarding issue within the home.
I feel she is very inspirational to the individuals she supports as well as the staff team in both homes. She supports them to get the best from life and is friendly and approachable as well as being a firm but fair manager. She stays upbeat even when faced with stress and her own health issues as she always puts her job first.”
Gery is certainly finding her success through the apprenticeship route which is giving her the necessary skills to become the best she can be in her chosen field. How will you find yours?
