Frequently Asked Questions

What adult care apprenticeship jobs are available at Paragon Skills?

We offer a wide variety of Adult Care Worker apprenticeship jobs across the UK, ranging from Level 2 Adult Care Worker roles, for those new to the sector, to Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker positions for those looking to progress into senior care roles. These vacancies include roles in residential care, domiciliary care and supported living.

What is the starting salary for a health and social care apprentice?

As of April 2026, the National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £8 per hour. However, many of the care employers we work with pay above this rate to attract dedicated talent. Your salary typically increases as you complete your first year or progress from a Level 2 to a Level 3 qualification.

Can I apply for an Adult Care apprenticeship with no prior experience?

Yes! Our Level 2 Adult Care Worker apprenticeships are specifically designed for those starting their career in care. You only need to be aged 16 or over and not in full-time education. We look for soft skills like empathy, communication and resilience rather than previous formal qualifications.

How long does a Health and Social Care apprenticeship take to complete?

A Level 2 apprenticeship usually takes between 12 to 18 months, while an Advanced Level 3 apprenticeship typically takes around 24 months. During this time, you will spend at least 20% of your working hours on "off-the-job" training and classroom-based learning.
