What will you learn on the apprenticeship?

The Level 2 Autocare Technician apprenticeship will prepare you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to inspect and maintain light vehicles within the industry. You will learn to remove, test and replace components and be able to inspect vehicles for faults, as well as carry out routine light vehicle maintenance to a high standard.

Apprentices would typically be based at a garage location; however this can vary from garage to garage depending on the business. As an apprentice, you will develop an understanding of health and safety within the workplace. You will learn to work to strict deadlines and work closely with others within a team. As you develop your repair knowledge you will increase your skills and performance and become a valuable team member.

An Autocare Technician carries out a range of services and repairs to cars, car derived vans and light goods vehicles, working in an ‘Autocare’ or ‘Fast-Fit’ Centre. An Autocare Technician requires a unique combination of technical, retail and customer service skills. You will use a range of tools, measuring and diagnostic equipment to identify and repair simple system faults.
