
Who is this apprenticeship suitable for?
Apprenticeships in customer service are an excellent way to create a solid foundation for your career in a huge range of job roles and industries.
The role of a customer service practitioner is to deliver high quality products and services to the customers of their organisation. Your core responsibility will be to provide a high quality service to customers which will be delivered from the workplace, digitally, or through going out into the customer’s own locality. These may be one-off or routine contacts and include dealing with orders, payments, offering advice, guidance and support, meet-and-greet, sales, fixing problems, after care, service recovery or gaining insight through measuring customer satisfaction. You may be the first point of contact and work in any sector or organisation type.
You will learn how to understand your customers, learn in-depth knowledge about your business’s products and services, effective communication and influencing skills and how to deal with conflict and challenge.
Typical roles that this apprenticeship will support are Customer Service Assistant, Customer Service Advisor, Customer Service Trainee and Customer Service Administrator.

What will you learn on the apprenticeship?
Your training will equip you with the expertise to offer continuous improvement in customer service and communication and the confidence to deal with your customers in a positive, personable and professional way. Wherever your skillset or interest lies, your apprenticeship will help you to start your career from day one of training.
You will learn how your actions influence the customer experience and their satisfaction with your organisation. You will learn how to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and behaviours as well as product and/or service knowledge when delivering to your customers.
On successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will be eligible to join the Institute of Customer Service as an individual member at Professional level.
