Charlie Capper

Early Years Educator apprentice, ABC Childcare Services

Charlie is working as an Early Years Practitioner, having completed her Level 2 and is now studying towards her Early Years Educator L3 apprenticeship. She first started in the sector having no previous qualifications or experience. Charlie worked extremely hard to achieve a Distinction in her Early Years Practitioner L2 apprenticeship and is now studying to achieve her Early Years Educator L3 with our Personal Tutor, Sophie.

Charlie explained that when she was younger, she always used to enjoy helping her mum to look after her younger cousins and could take care of them herself. She spent a lot of time with her younger cousins and enjoyed it so much, she loved to watch him grow and develop and learn new skills. Charlie then decided that working with children was something that she wanted to experience and wished to learn about children and their development.

Charlie has a positive attitude within her role and has grown in confidence, delivering excellent practice, supporting the children’s development, health, and welfare, supporting healthy lifestyles, promoting children’s emotional well-being, understanding the value of play, and working in partnership with parents and colleagues, and also being a great team member and an asset to her workplace.

Everyday I gain knowledge, doing my apprenticeship and also learning on the job has definitely been the best thing for me.

Charlie’s thoughts on the apprenticeship

Charlie is incredibly grateful to her tutor, Sophie. She is always there if Charlie needs support and she knew that if she needed any help or needed a question answered, she could call her tutor. Charlie feels a lot of support and explained that her tutor, Sophie is just as excited as she is when her progress goes up.

Throughout the past 2 years, Charlie has shown over and above dedication to the apprenticeship. She is passionate about childcare and developing herself to deliver the best outcomes for the children and the setting as possible. Charlie goes above and beyond within her role and is a valued, reliable member of the team developing her knowledge, skills, and behaviours daily, to provide the best level of care possible. This improves outcomes as Charlie is dedicated to developing her practice to deliver the best quality of care possible for those she cares for. Charlie has become a very valued member of the team and is one to support other colleagues and staff members.
