Gery’s Personal Tutor, Lisa Lyons said:
I have known Gery for three and a half years through her time training with us, and I have seen her English improve greatly which has boosted her confidence. Gery is well respected within the home and the linked home next door, which has coped with many difficulties including being short-staffed and supporting her manager to deal with a safeguarding issue within the home.
I feel she is very inspirational to the individuals she supports as well as the staff team in both homes. She supports them to get the best from life and is friendly and approachable as well as being a firm but fair manager. She stays upbeat even when faced with stress and her own health issues as she always puts her job first.
Gery’s thoughts on the apprenticeship so far
The most positive part for him was the learning itself and learning new skills. “Although I had quite a lot of experience, it was quite nice to have a recap and a refresh of certain areas of management.”
