Lisper Bosire

Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3 apprentice, Cera Care

Lisper Bosire is a Senior Professional Carer with Cera Care, supporting people in their own homes to maintain independence, dignity and wellbeing. She began her career in the UK after being recruited from overseas to address staff shortages during the Covid‑19 pandemic. With a strong passion for caring and a background shaped by community‑centred living, she was motivated by the opportunity to provide meaningful support and continue making a difference in people’s lives.

Although already trained abroad, transitioning into the UK care sector brought challenges. She worked hard to adapt to new expectations around legislation, professional boundaries and person‑centred care. With ongoing support from Cera Care, she achieved her Care Certification, and strengthened her practice as a domiciliary carer delivering tailored, high‑quality support. Her commitment to development led her to progress into the Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3 apprenticeship with Paragon Skills.

One of the most valuable aspect of my apprenticeship has been workshops delivered by paragon skills. These sessions provided opportunities to learn from tutors and peers, share experiences and develop practical knowledge.

Lisper’s thoughts on apprenticeships

For Lisper, the apprenticeship route offered the perfect balance of learning while working. It allowed her to develop new knowledge and apply it directly to real situations, helping her grow in confidence and capability. She particularly valued the Paragon Skills workshops, where she could learn from tutors, share experiences with peers and build practical understanding that enhanced her day‑to‑day role.

Both Cera Care and Paragon Skills played a strong role in her success. Her employer offered opportunities to put her learning into practice, take on new responsibilities and receive constructive feedback. Her tutors at Paragon Skills guided her through each stage of the programme, providing clear explanations, regular check‑ins and ongoing encouragement right up to her End‑Point Assessment.

The impact on her career has been significant. She now feels equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care, as well as a clear understanding of safeguarding, duty of care and health and safety. She has become a confident role model for colleagues and a supportive presence for service users navigating major life changes.

Looking ahead, Lisper is focused on using her apprenticeship as a springboard for meaningful progression. She hopes to move into senior management roles where she can influence high‑quality care delivery and empower others to provide the very best support. Alongside this, she is driven to expand her skills within adult learning; with aspirations to become a qualified assessor, helping others grow in confidence and capability. Her commitment to continuous professional development reflects her belief in lifelong learning—not only for her own career, but for the wider impact she can make across the sector.
