Having a tutor who explained everything clearly and a manager who gave me space to grow made all the difference, I felt supported every step of the way

Lucus’ thoughts on his apprenticeship

Lucas describes his apprenticeship experience with Paragon Skills as both enriching and eye-opening. He particularly valued the balance between practical, on-the-job learning and the theoretical knowledge delivered by his tutor. This combination helped him better understand the reasoning behind everyday practices in health and social care, deepening his confidence and competence in his role.

Lucas shares that the course enabled him to identify areas for improvement within his service and empowered him to implement positive changes. He appreciated how the apprenticeship encouraged him to think critically and apply new approaches that enhanced the quality of care provided.

Support played a key role in Lucas’s journey. His trainer took the time to clearly explain each aspect of the course, ensuring he understood expectations and felt prepared at every stage. His manager also played an important part, offering opportunities to apply his learning in real-time and exposing him to new responsibilities that aligned with his development goals.

Looking ahead, Lucas is eager to progress into a management role where he can continue applying his new skills and knowledge to lead with confidence and drive meaningful improvements in care delivery.
