With an apprenticeship, effectively you’re doing a job, you’re getting paid well, you know that an apprenticeship will allow you to continue your development whilst in the world of work.
Niaill’s thoughts on his apprenticeship
I like the work-based aspect of apprenticeships. For me, I greatly benefitted from the apprenticeship with Paragon Skills, even with 25 years’ experience working with young people in care and education. I think it’s a reflective process. So I can look back on stuff that I did 20, 25 years ago, reflect on that and improve and grow with what I’ve learned now.
If you’re thinking about doing an apprenticeship, absolutely go for it. With an apprenticeship, you’re doing a job and getting paid while you improve your knowledge and skills to grow professionally and provide the best care you can for the children you support. It allows you to improve your development whilst in the working world.
