Sophie’s thoughts on working as a Personal Tutor

Sophie is well known by her learners and Nursery Managers for going above and beyond to support learners’ wellbeing needs and is quick to address and provide additional support when the need arises. Sophie is able to improve outcomes for children and families by delivering a high standard of teaching and learning throughout the apprenticeship journey.  By providing the nursery settings with support for their Ofsted inspections, Sophie has been able to impact the level of service provided in these settings both from a childcare practitioner and a nursery manager perspective. 

Sophie began her journey with a Childcare L2 apprenticeship at a local nursery, later progressing to L3 in a different setting, and went on to become supervisor. Sophie spent 5 years within the childcare sector, completing various roles such as Early Years Apprentice, Early Years Practitioner, Early Years Supervisor and Boarding Tutor.

Sophie was the first Personal Tutor within Paragon to enter a learner into Gateway for their EPA following the move from frameworks to standards.  This learner was also the first learner within Paragon to achieve their L3 Apprenticeship Standard. Sophie cares deeply about her learners and their chosen career pathways and will go above and beyond to support them to achieve success and progress within the sector.
