Celebrating Good Care Month 2025: Shining a light on the heart of social care

Every July, Good Care Month offers a powerful opportunity to celebrate the incredible people working across the social care sector. From residential carers and home support workers to care home cooks, drivers, and managers, this campaign shines a spotlight on the compassion, resilience, and skill that go into delivering life-changing care every single day.

At Paragon Skills, we’re proud to support the care sector not only by recognising its vital workforce but also by developing the next generation of carers through high-quality apprenticeships. As we look ahead to Good Care Month 2025, we invite everyone; employers, educators, apprentices and communities, to get involved and show appreciation for the sector that supports so many lives.

What is Good Care Month?

Good Care Month is a national awareness campaign that runs throughout July. It began in Hertfordshire and has grown to become a UK-wide celebration of the adult social care workforce. The initiative is led by local authorities, care providers, and sector organisations, including the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA), who continue to champion the cause.

More than just a celebration, Good Care Month seeks to:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of care work
  • Promote careers in adult social care
  • Challenge stereotypes about care roles
  • Encourage recruitment and retention across the sector

In 2025, Good Care Month runs from Tuesday, July 1st to Thursday, July 31st, giving care organisations and advocates an entire month to promote the value and opportunities within care.

Why Good Care Month matters

As the UK’s population ages and the demand for care services grows, the need to recruit and retain dedicated care professionals has never been more urgent. Yet, care work often remains under-recognised and misunderstood.

Good Care Month aims to change that by:

  • Highlighting the diversity of roles within social care, from frontline carers to coordinators and support staff
  • Challenging outdated perceptions of care as low-skilled or temporary work
  • Celebrating the human impact of care – the stories of kindness, connection, and dignity that happen every day

At Paragon Skills, we believe that care work is a noble and rewarding career, and it deserves the visibility and appreciation this campaign brings.

Apprenticeships: Building the future of care

A key focus of Good Care Month is not just celebrating existing carers, but inspiring new talent to join the profession. That’s where apprenticeships in care come in.

Why apprenticeships matter:

Care apprenticeships are more than just training programmes, they’re career-launching opportunities. They provide hands-on experience, nationally recognised qualifications, and the skills needed to deliver compassionate, person-centred support.

At Paragon Skills, we’re proud to offer apprenticeship programmes in:

These programmes are designed to empower learners with the confidence and competence to thrive in the sector. Many of our learners go on to become senior carers, team leaders, and registered managers.

Employers: Use Good Care Month to recruit and upskill

If you’re a care employer, Good Care Month is the perfect time to launch or expand your apprenticeship offering. Apprenticeships:

  • Help attract new talent into the sector
  • Upskill existing staff to grow into leadership roles
  • Improve staff retention and job satisfaction
  • Show your commitment to investing in your workforce

Good Care Month is more than a celebration, it’s a call to action. It’s a chance to recognise the essential work being done by carers every day, and to inspire the next generation of care professionals.

At Paragon Skills, we’re committed to supporting that journey through outstanding apprenticeship programmes, ongoing learner support, and partnerships with care providers across the UK.

This July, let’s celebrate the sector that cares—and build a brighter future for care, together.
