This apprenticeship is ideal for any of your employees who work within a marina (including coastal, inland, river, waterway docks, basins with moorings and services for vessels) or a boatyard setting (waterside locations where vessels are built, maintained, docked, or stored) and are responsible for the safe, effective and efficient running of your environment.
This apprenticeship will provide your employees with the technical skills and knowledge needed to successfully operate your marina or boatyard environment. This includes customer service skills to enable engagement with customers, colleagues, external contractors/suppliers and visitors, as well as vessel handling including lifting, launching, high-pressure washing off and the storage of vessels ashore, and the berthing and movement of vessels on the water.
They will learn to work ensuring safe practice, complying with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice. They will be able to confidently check the safety of vessel users, staff and visitors, along with the safety of vessels and property within the marina/boatyard confines.
