Pre-Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering

In the world of boatbuilding and marine engineering, there are many opportunities to work in innovative and developing environments, and to work and learn from others that are highly skilled. The Marine pre-Apprenticeship programme will help you learn and develop skills and techniques that employers look for in their Apprentices and also help you understand the industry as a whole and guide you to the route that you find most interesting and challenging.

The pre-Apprenticeship programme is suitable for learners aged between 16 - 18 years and whilst on programme you will:

  • Learn from qualified technicians
  • Be able to maintain benefit payments
  • Continually gain practical skills and experience

  • Marine Engineering Process and Principles
  • Business Improvement Techniques
  • Servicing and Maintenance of Marine Engines and Ancillary Systems
  • Servicing and Maintenance of Marine Propulsion Systems

 

Entry Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed Level 1 Pre-Apprenticeship Programme and be reassessed and interviewed before progression onto the course

Level 2 Diploma in Marine Engineering (Foundation)

25 Weeks (2.5 days per week at our training campus)
