Our training, your way

 Who is the Apprenticeship for?

This Apprenticeship is ideal for your employees who are experienced Practitioners in Children's Residential Care and who have a passion for working with children, young people and families to support their health, education and day-to-day needs. This could be in a range of settings including children’s homes, residential special schools or with children that live on their own or in a larger group. They may also be experienced in working alongside other professionals and organisations to share the responsibility for improving outcomes and helping children reach their full potential.

Before taking their end-point assessment, your employees must have achieved the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare. Otherwise, they can study it alongside this Apprenticeship.

What will they learn?

Your employees will learn the factors that contribute to uncertainty in the lives of children, young people and families, enable their voices to be heard and help them to identify and manage risks. They will be able to confidently work with and support other professionals to respond to safeguarding concerns, exercise their professional judgement when faced with challenging situations and evaluate the effectiveness of any interventions as well as applying these critical evaluation skills to their own practice and behaviours.

This will all be underpinned by a sound working knowledge of the systems and policy frameworks that will support positive outcomes.

How will they learn?

Our Personal Tutors will deliver high-quality face-to-face learning and coaching and provide all the resources your employee will need to progress quickly. Our intuitive learner management system ‘Bud’ will really bring the subject to life through interactive learning tools, access to complementary online resources and relevant social communities, as well as provide real-time learner information so that you will always know what your employee is learning and how they are progressing.

I completed my Level 3 children and young people's workforce with Paragon. I couldn’t have asked for a better tutor! She was always there to help (no matter what time of day!), quick response with helpful advice to texts, emails or calls and came to see me at my nursery once a month without fail! I wouldn't have been able to get through it without her.
