Who is the Apprenticeship for?

This Apprenticeship is designed for employees who work within a children’s residential care setting e.g. a children’s home, a residential special school or a secure children’s home.

Employees working in these types of settings will support children, young people and families to achieve their potential and stay safe. Using an approach of respectful curiosity, employees will work alongside other professionals and organisations to share the responsibility for improving outcomes.

By the end of the Apprenticeship, your employees will be making a real difference to those people your business works with through their new skills, knowledge and behaviours.

What will they learn?

During the Apprenticeship programme, your employee will take the lead in developing and delivering children’s placement plan and will work with the children to support their health, education, social and day to day needs, playing a significant role in helping them to thrive and fulfil their potential.

Regular supervision with an experienced practitioner will be provided to encourage reflection on the practice and effectiveness of the employees’ methods and actions.

How will they learn?

Our Personal Tutors will deliver high-quality face-to-face learning and coaching and provide all the resources your employee will need. Our intuitive learner management system ‘Bud’ will bring the subject to life through interactive learning tools, access to complementary online resources and relevant social communities. It also provides real-time information so you always know how your employee is progressing.

Personal Tutors will deliver learning, provide coaching and programme resources to develop candidates’ skills, knowledge and behaviours in the following key areas.
