What you can expect from your Advanced Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning Apprenticeship
As a qualified support teaching assistant you will be confident in supporting individuals or a class of pupils and preparing classrooms for activities, as well as being able to provide other assistant staff with advice and suggestions.
Your work could include:
- Supporting the teacher in the classroom
- Supporting, motivating and challenging pupils who are underachieving
- Helping pupils overcome barriers
- Leading a team of colleagues
- Identifying opportunities for training and development
The exact details of your job during your Apprenticeship depend on your specific employer, but typically you can expect to work up to 40 hours a week, during term time, with a typical day starting between 8.30am and 9.15am and finishing around 3.15pm to 4.30pm.
