The Hair Professional Hairdressing Level 2 Apprenticeship standard is your first step towards starting a career as a junior hairdresser/stylist. You will gain practical work experience and get to do the job from the start. On your Apprenticeship you will:

Upon completion of this Apprenticeship, you will qualify with a Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, in addition to Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths & English and excellent work experience.

What you can expect from your Hairdressing Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
The Hair Professional - Hairdressing Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard will teach you all the key skills required to be able to work as a Junior hairdresser/stylist. You will be undertaking your training in a professional working environment and will learn new skills from day one which will include how to:
- Cut hair using a range of techniques
- Shampoo and condition hair
- Colour and lighten hair
- Style and finish hair
- Work with different hair types
Our Paragon Skills Personal Tutors will deliver training and provide coaching and resources to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviour in the following key areas:
The exact details of your job depend on your specific employer, but typically you can expect to work up to 40 hours a week, between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Most hairdressing salons open on Saturdays and offer an alternative day off in the week.
Your pathway to success
Once you have completed your Hairdressing Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will have gained all the basic hairdressing skills required to get recognised and progress in this exciting industry.
A career in hairdressing offers many interesting career options which includes working in a spa, hotel, care home, cruise ship or holiday resort.
The natural progression after you have completed this level is to progress onto the Hairdressing Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship.
