Who is the Apprenticeship for?

This Apprenticeship is ideal for employees that provide healthcare support to adults in a range of settings and are ready to take the next step in their healthcare career. These employees deliver high quality, compassionate care to every person whether they work in a person’s own home, residential or nursing home, or a clinical setting.

Typical roles that this Apprenticeship will support are:

Lead Adult Care Worker, Lead Personal Assistant, Rehabilitation Worker, Key Worker, Domiciliary Care Worker, Senior Care Assistant, Support Worker, Advocacy Worker, Housing Support Officer & Complementary Therapist.

What will they learn?

This Apprenticeship will provide your employees with all the skills they need to monitor the health of individuals and plan their future care. They will learn how to help the people in their care to take charge of their daily lives in the best way they can including support to carry out their own healthcare procedures or better manage their own situation.

They will acquire all the skills and knowledge to proactively promote health, safety and wellbeing and inspire others to deliver the best and most personalised care to every individual you support.

How will they learn?

Our Personal Tutors will deliver high-quality face-to-face learning and coaching and provide all the resources your employee will need to progress quickly. Our intuitive learner management system ‘Bud’ will really bring the subject to life through interactive learning tools, access to complementary online resources and relevant social communities, as well as provide real-time learner information so that you will always know what your employee is learning and how they are progressing.

This Apprenticeship will develop your employees’ knowledge, skills and behaviours in the following areas:

Optional units

  • Undertake agreed pressure area care Enable individuals to develop strategies to manage their behaviour Support individuals to carry out their own health care procedures Move & position individuals in accordance with their care plan Support independence in the tasks of daily living Contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions’
