It’s Professional Care Workers’ Week
This week is Professional Care Workers’ Week; a celebration of carers hosted by the Care Workers Charity for the sixth year in a row this year. Professional Care Workers’ Week is a special time dedicated to recognising and celebrating the incredible contributions of these unsung heroes who work day in and day out to make a difference in the lives of others.
The Care Workers Charity work as advocates for the recognition of carers and campaign for care workers’ rights; challenging misconceptions and striving to improve working conditions and better funding for the care sector. Shining a spotlight on the selfless individuals who serve in a wide range of caregiving roles. From nurses and home healthcare aides to social workers and therapists, these dedicated professionals offer physical, emotional and psychological support to individuals facing illness, disability, or challenging life circumstances. They provide comfort, companionship, and a sense of dignity to those who need it most.
The work of professional care workers often goes unnoticed or underappreciated. Yet, their roles are crucial to the well-being and quality of life of countless individuals and families. Recognising their efforts during Professional Care Workers’ Week is a small but meaningful way to express our gratitude for their tireless dedication to care.
Professional Care Workers’ Week will run 18th – 22nd of September; the Care Workers Charity will be hosting several panels and sessions to discuss issues faced by care workers and talk about how we can support our care workers. They will also be hosting an afternoon tea fundraiser on Thursday 21st September, and a walk fundraiser on Friday 22nd September.
