Optivo gifts £70,000 unspent levy to support the care sector
Optivo is one of the largest housing providers in the UK, giving 90,000 people somewhere affordable to call their own. Optivo is about much more than just bricks and mortar, they are about building communities.
Passionate about helping families with housing needs, Optivo invests heavily in neighbourhood community programmes, which help their residents with training, careers advice, financial and digital inclusion so that they can develop their potential and live their best lives.
Residents are at the heart of everything they do, but Optivo is so much more than that.
Working in partnership with paragon skills, Optivo has gifted over £70,000 in unspent levy funding to support apprenticeship training in the care sector. Redistributing any unspent levy funding in this essential sector covers their training costs, supports growth, and boosts the economy in the region at the same time as demonstrating Optivo’s commitment to corporate social responsibility by supporting those businesses hit hardest by the pandemic.
Optivo is financing apprenticeship training schemes for Quality Care to upskill workers who may not otherwise be able to afford training.
Quality Care provides a holistic approach to person-centred care plans ensuring the Autistic Spectrum, Learning and Physical Disability individual residential care service user support needs are met.
The investments will help raise the visibility and profile of much-needed apprenticeship training in the care sector at the same time as providing opportunities and support to Quality Care to upskill that workforce and develop the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed.
The funding comes directly from Optivo’s apprenticeship levy pot, and Optivo has chosen to utilise this money in this vital sector. Optivo is an advocate of apprenticeships and a partnership with Paragon Skills has allowed high-quality training, addressing personal development and gaps in the workforce.
