It’s Professional Care Workers’ Week 2024

This week, 16th – 20th September 2024, marks the seventh annual Professional Care Workers’ Week, hosted by the Care Workers Charity. It’s a special time to honour and celebrate the remarkable contributions of professional care workers, the unsung heroes who tirelessly make a positive impact on the lives of others every day.

The Care Workers Charity advocates for the recognition of carers and campaigns for their rights, challenging misconceptions and striving to improve working conditions and secure better funding for the care sector.

They shine a spotlight on the selfless individuals in various caregiving roles, from nurses and home healthcare aides to social workers and therapists. These dedicated professionals provide physical, emotional, and psychological support to those facing illness, disability, or challenging life circumstances, offering comfort, companionship, and a sense of dignity to those who need it most.

The invaluable contributions of professional care workers often go unnoticed or underappreciated. However, their roles are essential to the well-being and quality of life for countless individuals and families. Recognising their efforts during  this week is a small yet meaningful way to show our gratitude for their unwavering dedication to care.

It will take place from 16th to 20th September. During this time, the Care Workers Charity will host several panels and sessions to discuss the challenges faced by care workers and explore ways to support them.
